Water Carrier in Shtetl
A water carrier was a very hard and backbreaking job, but it stirs a world of imagination in our minds. No story of Shtetl life is complete without mentioning the "Vaser Treger", the water carrier, usually done by simple but holy Yidelech. This is a watercolor description of pre-war life in a gone era, erased by the Holocaust.
